Sammy’s entertains himself on long road trips by reading license plates. “H-U-P-7-4-B,” He says as they pass a Volvo from Illinois. Dean turns around and glares at him; Sammy sticks his tongue out, but mouths the letters quietly until they reach their destination.

“S-t-a-r,” He reads each letter slowly, then puts it all together. “Stuh-ah-rrr. Star!”

“Hey kiddo, where’d you learn to read like that?” John grins proudly.

“Dean,” Sammy admits. “Reads to me every night.”

Dean slinks down into the seat, face red.  “S’just comic books.”

Sammy turns his attention to the shop next door.  “Dad, what’s X-X-X mean?”

Aww... Bashful little Dean may be the cutest thing ever!

That last line is a great hook! Not only is it funny, it's also a little sad, telling us about their situation & how much of it Sam doesn't understand yet & how hard it's going to be for John & Dean to maintain that kind of innocence for much longer. In short, this is awesome!
