I am minus one child and winding down from an exhausting day of eating and dealing with family dysfunction and I just want to collapse into fandom and never return.

Also? Bored now, so I thought I might take some drabble requests.

  • anything pairing from Heroes fandom (het, gen, slash, and rpf all accepted)
  • 100-500 words
  • prompt with a word, phrase, lyric, picture, anything you come up with
  • feel free to offer multiple pairings/prompts

my brain is a scary place on occasion

........

"Where are we going?" Peter asks as he walks next to his brother, paying close attention not to bump into any of the people bustling all around them.

"To pick up a suit," Nathan replies, eyes straight ahead. "Hurry up, shorty. They close in five."

Peter glares at Nathan even though he knows Nathan can't see, or maybe that's why he glares, and tries to make his little legs keep up with Nathan's long ones. One day he wants to be just like Nathan; tall, muscular, lean, beautiful. But for some reason he doesn't think that's going to happen. Maybe its because there can only be one Nathan in the world, or maybe it's because he's just Peter. Luckily he's only six years old and six year old's don't come equipped with the kind of attention span needed for that sort of existential thinking. His attention soon drifts as he lags behind Nathan, stopping to stare in the pet shop window at the newborn puppies.

"Peter!" Nathan calls from twenty paces up, a stern look on his face that reminds Peter too much of their father. Peter frowns at him and doesn't move, staring back into the window at the playful puppies.

"Come on," Nathan says next to him. "We've got to hurry."

"I want a puppy, Nathan," He says, looking up at his brother with a face that says he knows already what the answer is going to be, but he has to try.

"I want a lot of things Peter," Nathan answers gravelly, reaching out for Peter's hand. "Let's go."

Peter glares at him stubbornly. It's not fair. Nathan always gets whatever he wants; a new car, a new suit, a new apartment. He never gets anything he wants.

"But I really want a puppy," He presses, throwing as much feeling into the request as he can.

"Listen," Nathan says, kneeling down to get himself on Peter's level. "We all want things we can't have sometimes, Petey. Maybe one day you'll get a puppy. Maybe you won't. That's just the way life works, understand?"

Peter nods solemnly and takes Nathan's hand, trying not to look back as they walk away from the petshop.

***

Peter pushes him up against the wall, fingers tightly curled around the starched collar of Nathan's shirt as he pushes his tongue into his mouth, fighting against him, making him like it.

"Peter, what the-" Nathan tries to get out, but Peter claims his mouth again. Hungry, needy, desperate. He's denied this for way too long and now he can't control himself.

Words from a previous decade echo in his mind as Nathan's reluctant tongue curls around his, making his skin prickle and his cock harden.

We all want what we can't have.

Peter just smirks and drops to his knees in front of his brother, the only thing he's ever truly wanted.

*Bounces in glee* I love this! I love six year old Peter really wanting a puppy and I love the older Peter going after what he really really wants.
