My husband is being a gigantic asshole cockfucker, I still feel like hell and death, my allergies are attacking from all sides, and I only got four hours of sleep last night. On the plus side, I finally dug the splinter out from underneath my fingernail. Watching Generation Kill on mute just to watch Brad smile makes me feel lots better.

Is there a logical explanation for why Peter didn't just go back ten minutes earlier and tell Nathan if he told the world about their powers they'd all be turned into lab rats and Peter would lose his goddamn mind and fuck with time and screw them all?

I mean:

a.)  Season One, Hiro went back in time to tell Peter to "save the cheerleader, save the world." Peter listened to him, why wouldn't Nathan listen to Future!Peter?

b.) Peter is cute, not stupid.  Okay, maybe Present!Peter is a little naive sometimes and hasn't totally pwn'd his powers yet, but I would think that Future!Peter is even more knowledgeable about things. You know, like time and space, and how fucking with it could screw everything to hell.  Especially blinking to the past, shooting your brother, and leaving the gun laying around.

c.) I don't even have a C for this WTF-ERY.

Discuss.

I intend to rewatch eps 1-2 and then share my Thoughts, as I've had some since I had my brain fried last night watching them...

Oh, that doesn't sound so great. I hope you feel better soon.

Heroes sucks. Awesome first season, crappy second and from the looks of things - the third one will be worst. Because exactly what you say - why couldn't Peter go back further in time? Like also when he finds out all the guys have gotten out of the call, including the Peter-inhabited one. Why not just go back an hour and fix it. And the Mohinder plot? So bad. God I'm so disappointed because remember last season? Wasn't it even the creator of the damn thing who said that they realised the writing sucked and that they would take the strike as a chance to really make this work again. By what? Making the characters sprout pseudo-psycho and pseudo-religious babble?

I think as far as the time travel stuff goes, you just have to suspend your disbelief for a bit. I mean yeah, he could have gone back earlier, but... then there would be no plot lol. I mean time travel is a HARD power to work with because it can basically be a cure-all (like, why didn't Hiro just go back in time AGAIN and leave Adam alone so he never would have become evil?) and you kind of have to think, ok, it doesn't really make sense but... it's also a show about people with superpowers ;D

What I'd really love is for the writers to fit something in about how time travel isn't as easy as it seems... expand on the whole 'butterfly effect' thing. Like, maybe even if Peter had come back and explained things to Nathan so he never gave that speech, something even worse could have happened. WHO KNOWS! ... my brain hurts :S
