happy times for boys

So I wrote this comment fic forbigfiction because she's totally worried for the boys. It should be noted that so am I, I'm just better at denial than she is. :p Spoilers obviously, if you haven't seen 4.01.





"There are two things I never lie about, Sam. Motherfucking winged men just happens to be one of them."

"Point." Sam says. "Angels? Really?"

Dean attemps to hang himself with his amulet. "YES!"

"Shit," Sam mutters, rubbing his hand against the back of his neck, his cheeks turning the same color as his lips. He looks like that time Dean caught him studying with a flash light instead of sleeping like Dad'd ordered them too.

"Spill it, Sammy."

"Well. I just. Man, I feel kinda guilty now."

"What'd you do?" Dean sighs. Sam's chewing his lip; he's going to need to sit down for this.

"I, uh, kinda lied. A little"

"How little?" The vein in Dean's neck pulses beneath the skin.

"Ruby's alive and I'm, well you know - she was the girl in motel room, and she's been teaching me how to harness my powers ever since I realized I couldn't get you back. Not without...help."

"Dammit SAM!" Dean stands up, sits back down, stands back up. "Can't even leave you alone for four freakin' months. Let me see your eyes."

"Dean."

"Come here." Dean commands and Sam bites into his lip a little harder. He kneels on the ground in front of Dean, like he's having his eyes checked by a paranoid parent, afraid little Sammy's been "rolling" or "tweaking" with the cool kids at school.

"Doesn't mean a damn thing," He mutters, obviously not finding what he was expecting.

"I'm fine, Dean. Really. I swear." Sam lays his hand on Dean's thigh and Dean blinks.

"You better be," He mutters, pushing Sam away as he stands up. "Jesus Christ, angels and demons. This isn't a fucking Tom Hanks blockbuster."

"You didn't even see the first one," Sam mutters under his breath, earning him a firm smack to the back of his head.

"Hey Dean," he turns around, eyes softened around the edges. He looks like Sam now, even though Dean hadn't even realized that he'd looked different since he got back.

"Yeah, Sammy?" He wants to reach out, push the wet strands of hair behind Sam's ear so he can see those eyes. Soft, honest, familiar.

"I don't care why you're back. I'm just glad you are."

"Yeah," He says. "Me too."

i'm worried about them too. i mean, while i do think that a big throw down between winchesters would be awesome and epic, i really want it to wind up with dean saving sam because that's what it's about, you know? saving people, not war. and it'd be one last fuck you to the universe on dean's part because he's dean motherfucking winchester, and he's never believed in destiny.

I loved this! I came across it in bigfiction's first, then your page uploaded and I was like, "Oh, cool!"

This was very IC and descriptive, so I felt like I was viewing an actual scene in the show. Who knows, maybe this will actually happen. *crosses fingers* Wouldn't that be frickin' awesome?
