Cool sweat pools between Sam’s shoulder blades, in the crooks of his elbows, soaking straight through his thin t-shirt, pulled tight across lean muscle. He pauses to wipe a layer of sweat from his forehead before it drips into his eyes, leaning on the handle of his shovel under the scorching sun.  He peels the shirt off his back to mop the sweat from his face and arms.

“What?’ He snaps when he catches Dean staring at him, open-mouthed.

“Nothing,” Dean mutters, licking his lips as his shovel bites into the soft ground. “Just -- lay off the ‘roids, dude.”
