Sam’s staring at his reflection, dingy mirror barely held on by one weak screw on the bathroom wall. The reflection, long hair that hasn‘t seen a pair of scissors in months, beard, gaunt body, it all belongs to him. It’s the eyes staring back at him, liquid onyx, that aren’t his.

Dean.

“You said you’d help me. Promised, Sammy.” Sam watches his mouth move, hears the pure, raw hate in each word. “Ruby was right. It’s a prison of bone and flesh.”

His mouth twists upward, blackness fading until his eyes are honey brown again.

“How does it feel, Sammy?”
