withimpunityI don't really have any deep thoughts on Glee because the show is just generally all over the place, but this is the first episode since they came back from hiatus that actually got a reaction out of me. Burt Hummel never fails to deliver. Him ripping Finn a new one was like, the highlight of my life. Not because I hate Finn, I don't, but he was being a dick. No, I don't think he actually thinks that way about Kurt. I think he was lashing out at Kurt for shit that was happening to him at school. He was taking his problems out on Kurt in a really, really hurtful, personal way ("I can't live like this, I'm a dude") and I'm just sensitive to that shit, okay? I get that its human nature, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Burt standing up for Kurt like that and yelling at Finn - you don't even know how satisfying that was to me.
And apparently there are people defending Finn? Saying that Finn deserves to be a little frustrated with Kurt because Kurt flaunts his ~personality~ or whatever. That all this time, Finn has been accepting of who Kurt is, but that Kurt hasn't accepted Finn for who he is. That's bullshit. Finn doesn't even know who he is. Actually, you know what? I don't really like Finn. Boy lacks personality, talent, and his passive aggressiveness annoys the shit out of me. Kurt deserves better.
And this is getting too angsty for me, so I'm just going to say BRITNEY IN A LOBSTER HAT.
That Bad Romance performance was the best I've seen on this show, but I might have been distracted by all the SANTANA/BLACK LACE. JESUS.

IT'S JUST WHO HE IS, THERE'S A DIFFERENCE FUCKTARDS. it's not like he's laying on the floor with his ass in the air in front of people, begging to get fucked, jesus. that's like telling adam to stop flaunting it. shut up, people. also KURT'S STRUT DURING BAD ROMANCE FTW.

Burt called him on ALL the shit I would have called him on and it was SO. SATISFYING. Thank you, Glee. Sfm.

Date: 2010-05-26 06:31 am (UTC)I get defending Finn for being frustrated with his life in general right now - there's a lot of change happening. He's under stress. But that isn't Kurt's problem. Finn had no right to say that stuff to him. (My mom really liked the room. I mean, it's completely ridiculous in a Glee sort of way. But Kurt knows how to decorate. Finn could have participated in the decoration if he wanted to. And Kurt even got a privacy screen!)
Their costumes were fantastic though. And I loved Tina's vampire-out at the end. She's so weird in a way that sort of sneaks up on you.

Finn is totally allowed to be frustrated, poor kid. When Puck was singing to Quinn I was like, wow. How is he even dealing with that? But its highschool, I guess you move on pretty quickly when you're 16. Idk.

But a.) both Kurt and Burt acknowledged that part and b.) they're absolutely right: That doesn't give him the right to call Kurt a fag. Period. Sure, maybe Kurt could be more sensitive to Finn's taste or whatever, it should have been obvious that Finn wouldn't like the way he redecorated room, but well, that's just Glee for you. Everything's over the top.
