That there wasn't just one hero of the story. And I guess that's how its always been, right? But last week's episode set up the whole Jack-As-The-Hero thing, which made sense! But what I really loved was how he was just ONE of the many heroes in the end.

Jack volunteered to be the new Jacob because he knew that he would do whatever it took to protect the island. Because finally, finally Jack had faith. He didn't know how it was going to happen or play out, he just believed that it would.

But it wasn't Jack that went down in the shiny well and pulled the plug, it was DESMOND. Jack got them there, but without Desmond, none of it would have happened. And Desmond wouldn't have been there without Rose and Bernard. And possibly Sayid. (LOL I'm confusing myself.)

So that rendered Flocke mortal finally, so Jack did his best to try and kill the bastard before he got off the island. Only Jack, I don't believe, would have been able to finish Flocke off if KATE hadn't showed up with the bullet she'd saved for him. KATE FTW.

I could go back and think of all the other people who saved the day and people who wouldn't have been there to do their jobs if OTHER people hadn't done theirs, but I think you get the picture. It really was all about the people.
