re: jump the shark
Apr. 24th, 2009 01:59 pmAnd the frayed Sam and Dean relationship in this episode just tore at me. I've been very unhappy with the Sam&Dean (or rather, utterly lack thereof) this season, because while I'm fine with tension, I'm really NOT fine with this bizarro world where they just don't give a shit if the other alive or dead, around or not. But this didn't feel like that, at all. The rift and how much it's wearing on them came through, as did their obvious love for each other, even with everything else going on. So many lovely little brotherly moments, particularly the worldless rock-paper-scissors--it's been awhile since we've had that kind of thoughtless silent communication, and it made me really happy. As did the fact that Dean still always chooses scissors, even though he knows that Sam knows he does this. Oh, Dean. You are so ridiculous and I love you so much it hurts.
"Dean! Always with the scissors." SQUEAL! *flaily arms*
I was pleasantly surprised with how good this episode was. It felt like a good MOTW episode, with Season-Two-Style-Angst/Daddy issues, and the best part? No friggin angels! \o/ You can hate me if you like, but I just enjoy the episodes so much better sans angel. That said, next week's episode? DNW.
My icon is nowhere in the VICINITY of relevant, jsyk. Ha.
