spn drabble: Family Tradition

Title: Family Tradition
Pairing: none; gen
Rating: PG
Words: 100
Prompt: Writing on the Wall

It was like a ritual now, one of the only family traditions they had.  Dean liked knowing that even when he’d left a place, there was still a little bit of him there.

“Hurry,” Sam checked his watch. “You know he gets mad when we make him wait, Dean.”

“Almost done,” Dean mumbled, tongue peeking between his teeth as he carved the last letter into the stall door with his hunting knife.  “There.”

They each stood back and admired Dean’s handiwork a  moment before settling back into the Impala, putting another state behind them.

Sam and Dean was here.  9-18-93.
