It is pretty fucking amazing how we remember all those little things. And I didn't really ~ditch~ the show, but my heart certainly wasn't in it at all season 4, so it kind of feels like I did. That season just, it fucking sucked to me. I understand what they were doing with Sam and Ruby and why, I just feel like, idk, they could have done it different and I would have liked it, maybe even loved it. Totally went on a rant, sorry lol.
