Dean’s stomach turns flips and his heart races beneath his skin. He hasn’t thought much about this moment since they told him about it months ago, but now the day is here.
“Hey baby,” Mary says with a tired smile. “Are you ready?”
“Yes,” He answers, unsure. “I think so.”
“You’ll do just fine,” She smiles. “You know what to do, Dean.”
She lays the baby in his arms and all the uncertainty he had before is instantly washed away.
“Hi, Sammy.” Dean says, feeling stronger already. “ I’m your big brother. I won’t never let nothing happen to you.”
